עבודותיה של גליה עופרי מצטברות לערמות של דפים, שקופים למחצה שעיסוקם המרכזי משרטט מיפוי ויזואלי ורגשי של מצבי קיום מתוכם צף אל תודעתנו המושג הומניזם. מונח זה נדמה כמעט זר לספרטניות הישראלית הנוכחת אף היא במהלך הזמנים המורכב שקיים בעבודות.
חלקן נדמות שייכות לשלהי המאה התשע עשרה ולמהלך המאה העשרים. מפרפרות בין מודרניזם שכבר חדל להיות רלוונטי לניסיון נואש לבנות אוטופיה מאוחרת, רוויית תחושות של כשלון והחמצה.

Galia Offri’s works accumulate into stacks of semi transparent papers, whose main subject matter delineates a visual and emotional mapping of states of being, conjuring the notion of humanism into our minds. This notion seems almost foreign to the Israeli Spartan attitude, which is also present in the complex timeline that underlies the works. Some seem to belong in late nineteenth century and the twentieth century, fluttering between modernism that has ceased to be relevant and a desperate attempt to build a late utopia, steeped in a sense of missed opportunities.
