About the gallery

The Tel Aviv Artists’ Studios is a public funded project of 13 studios and a gallery space. Started in 1989 in the south east of Tel Aviv in a former school conversion the community of artists in residence included Philip Rantzer, David Reeb, Roi Kuper, Uri Katzenstein, Ido Barel, Nahum Tevet, Yehudit Sasportas among many others.

The project was relocated on April 2012 to no. 5 Kalischer St. Tel Aviv.

The organization board includes Prof. Micha Levin, Mrs. Carmela Rubin, Mrs. Ellen Ginton, and Mr. Udi Rosenwein.

Curators: Dr. Vered Zafran Gani, Eitan Buganim.

The gallery holds 9 exhibitions a year and out door video projections during the spring and summer.

Current artists in residence are: Avi Sabah, Oren Ben Moreh, Tzachi Buchbut, Miri Segal, Ohad Matalon, Talia Keinan, Tamar Harpaz, Elham Rokni, Eli Petel, Yochai Avrahami, Merav Shin Ben- Alon.

A residency program with collaboration of the NRW Art foundation, The Bronner Family, and the Goethe Institute Tel Aviv started at 2009 enables the exchange of artists from Tel Aviv and Dusseldorf. Israeli artists who participated in this program stayed in Dusseldorf for 6 months were: Ben Hagari, Angela Klein, Gili Avissar, Tzachi Buchbut, Zoya Cherkesky, Erez Israeli, Gil Yefman, Alma Itzhaky.

The exhibition space is supported by the Tel Aviv municipality, Ministry of culture and science.
